If you want to learn more about me, here you go... Hello there! My name is Roly Ortega, otherwise known as “TheRolyPoly.” I'm 29 years old; a son and future broadcaster and podcaster located in Miami, Florida, United States, North America, Northern Hemisphere, Earth. I'm currently working towards becoming a radio broadcaster and podcaster, having gained the knowledge and skills needed from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. I have an A.A. in Telecommunications from Miami-Dade College and a technical degree from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Since Monday, August 11th, 2014, I've been the founder, and owner plus the only blog poster for the one-man-band operation known as " Changing Newscasts ". Its been recognized throughout the industry via social media followers, either on X, Facebook, or Bluesky (this includes 70 local TV stations, 97 different journalists and/or news professionals, which includes news directors and behind-the-scenes people, 1 radio station (98.1 KISC Spokane), and 1 media company (TEGNA) as of 2025), and has been viewed over one million times. Another franchise I run, this one since Monday, May 1st, 2017, is called "Public Media Fans." Its available on X ( @PubMediaFans ) and Bluesky ( Public Media Fans ) where I report on the latest news in public media and show support for public broadcasting. It has gained a following among those who currently work in public broadcasting. A third and final franchise I currently run since 2022 is called SeriousXM . It is a weekly newsletter that focuses on the latest inside SiriusXM, and just like the last two franchises, it has gained a following amongst those who work for the satellite radio giant. I used to be an on-air personality for a Top 40 CHR radio station called "GHQ," broadcasting at 95.3 FM (W237EJ) in Gainesville, Fla., and also heard on 89.1 WUFT-FM-HD3 in both Gainesville and Ocala. I was on the air four days a week doing regular music plus hosting my own EDM music show. When I left back in the Fall of 2019, this is when I was on the air: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00-3:00 p.m. as " Roly on the Radio " Saturdays from 8:00-10:00 p.m. as " The Saturday Night Music Mix " I was also the inaugural co-podcast leader, helping develop and launch the station's podcast network. Since then, I've soft-launched my own one-man-band production company in 2020 called " TheRolyPoly Productions ," where everything I produce from radio and podcasts to newsletters and websites is converged into one umbrella. Other than broadcasting, I love watching sports, Family Guy (though it's been years now), listening to EDM music or classic hits, and reporting and observing on TV news and public media.
